We headed down to Singapore for 2 days last week. It was quite interesting as we visited many new places. I love Singapore for its food and tourist hotspots but hate the fact that I am paying almost twice the price for most things. We booked ourselves into Fragrance Hotel - Selegie which is situated at Little Indian LRT stop. The hotel is quite near to town but the only downfall was, it being a budget hotel, so space was an issue and the walls were painted lime green in colour ! If you see the photos, you will notice the hangers on the wall..that was basically our closet ;o)
But since we had a full schedule, we only used the hotel for bunking in. We were hanging out in Orchard Road, Bugis Junction and Bugis Street for some window shopping. Singapore is having its sale till end July but nothing caught my eye. Food is abundant here for every type of person - from food court, gourmet to even international cuisine. If you head to Bugis Junction mall, head to the 3rd floor for some good food. The spread is immense and the quality is great and clean. Basically travelling with just a backpack with our clothes and my D200, we managed to even catch Andy Warhols's exhibition on the last day. It was called "100 Warhols" at the 'Collectors'. He such is such a talent !
Tip : If you fly into Singapore, take the MRT to town instead of a cab or coach, the MRT station is situated at Terminal 3. The cost is a fraction of the price compared to the latter.
